What is Rechargeable Li-ion Battery?
The Li-ion battery(lithium-ion battery) is one type of rechargeable lithium battery, it is commonly used in electronic devices. The rechargeable li-ion battery is a cylindrical shape, they are also known as a cylindrical battery. And the rechargeable li-ion battery is a hard case, the durable outer casing to protect the battery inside. And the li-ion battery is shock and vibration resistant. These characteristics make this battery widely used in flashlights, cameras, and remote-controlled toys, power tools, remote control vehicles, electric vehicles, and ships.
The rechargeable Li-ion battery hard cases are usually made of materials such as plastic, metal or composite materials and are designed to withstand shock and protect the battery cells from damage. The internal cell of the hard-case li-ion battery is the same as other li-ion batteries, consisting of a positive electrode made of lithium cobaltate, a negative electrode made of graphite, and a li-ion electrolyte.
Li-ion batteries work by storing and releasing energy through the movement of li ions between two electrodes, usually made of lithium cobaltate (positive electrode) and graphite (negative electrode). When a battery is charged, li ions move from the positive electrode to the negative electrode, where they are stored. When the li-ion battery discharges, the ions move back to the positive electrode, releasing energy in the process.
Rechargeable Li-ion Battery Advantages
1. Durable Hard Case
The li-ion battery with a hard case, it is the most advantages. The hard case can protect against damage and extend the overall battery life. They are also less prone to leakage or rupture than soft-shell li-ion batteries, which can be an important consideration in some applications.
2. High Energy Density
The rechargeable li-ion battery with a high energy density, allows them to store large amounts of energy in a relatively small space. They are also capable of delivering high levels of power, making them ideal for use in power tools and other applications requiring high performance.
3. No Memory Effect
One of the advantages of rechargeable li-ion batteries is that they are not affected by the “memory effect” that plagued older rechargeable batteries. This means they can be charged at any time without fully discharging first.
Another advantage of cylindrical hard case li-ion batteries is their versatility. They come in various sizes and capacities, such as 18650, 21700, 26650, 16500, 10180, and 14310. so it’s easy to find the right battery for a particular application.
5. Cheaper Price
The rechargeable li-ion battery is cheaper than lipo battery. The choice between a hard case li-ion battery and a soft-shell lipo battery will depend on the specific application and the level of protection required.
